The Development Specialist will be responsible for coordinating community health, planning, events, and special projects. As needed, the Development Specialist will provide high level administrative support to the President of the CHA Foundation staff and the VP for Marketing and Strategic Planning will independently manage the database for the CHA Foundation Office. Specific duties include: 1. Responsible for providing outreach/supported assistance in the community. 2. Coordinates and plans office activities and functions, including special events. 3. Prepares reports, assists with securing gift and in-kind donations, acknowledgement letters and other correspondence. 4. Composes donor newsletter and reports. 5. Responsible for accuracy and integrity of donor gift information on the database. 6. Primary contact for reconciliation of gift database with accounting department on a regular basis. 7. Fields CHA foundation requests and calls to appropriate parties. Handles appropriate calls and emails independently. 8. Manages schedule, correspondence and communications for the CHA Foundation department. 9. Provides administrative support to the President to the CHA Foundation and Chief Community Officer. 10. Prepares materials for all meetings in a timely manner. 11. Interacts with internal and external parties at all level. 12. Demonstrates a highly professional demeanor to external and internal staff. 13. Serves effectively as a liaison to all of the President's direct reports and departments. 14. Effectively supports consultants to the President as needed. 15. Attends, supports, and takes minutes of meetings. 16. Creates documents and presentations for the President. 17. Creates and manages spreadsheets for the President. 18. Orders office supplies, furniture, other supplies as needed. 19. Coordinates office space and staff relocation. 20. Manages special projects as assigned. 21. Assists with the A/R and A/P function for the department with Finance. 22. Maintains and updates vendor and administrative files. 23. Manage various e-mail distribution list, emergency contact lists, etc. 24. Sorts and distributes mail. 25. Coordinates orientation of new staff. 26. Manages central department files. 27. Has access to confidential information and maintains a high degree of confidentiality. 28. Other duties as assigned.
Education/Training: BA/BS preferred. Work
Experience: o 2 years relevant experience, preferably in fundraising. o Familiarity with government and/or legislation preferred. o Excellent organizational and computer skills (i.e. excel and powerpoint). o Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills. o Ability to work independently o Ability to manage priorities and deadlines o Familiarity with Raisers Edge software preferred Physical Skills: o Ability to work at a desk and move binders, or documentation. o Ability to use a computer with or without adaptive equipment. o Light lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling. o Infrequent stooping and crouching. Mental Skills: o Intelligence displayed through an ability to learn, reason and make judgments given a variety of situations, tasks, and environments. o Organizing, directing, controlling and planning an entire activity/process or the activities of others. o Generalizing, judging or decision making of information against judgmental or verifiable criteria. o Performs jobs under stress when confronted with critical or unexpected situations. Working Conditions and Physical Environment: o Busy office work environmentEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
