About the Job The Vice President, Marketing is a key member of FMI's BioPharma Business Unit (BU) and Leadership Team (BLT). This position is a hands-on entrepreneur who builds and operates the end-to-end marketing capability for the business unit, from strategy to execution, partnering closely with the account-facing (alliance and business development) and the portfolio solutions teams. This is a matrixed role that also partners closely across FMI, including with the clinical-commercial marketing teams, lifecycle teams and product leaders, medical, clinical, corporate communications, international business, and others within the One Roche ecosystem. Key Responsibilities o Market-Shaping:
Develop long-term (5-year) and short-term marketing goals for FMI's molecular profiling and product portfolio that will have measurable impact on customers in this segment and business growth. In partnership across FMI, deliver on various key results areas that include, but are not limited to, market analysis and segment strategies, market shaping and communications, marketing collateral, congress and events, new market development, product positioning, education and launches, and building value. Deeply assess and map (in partnership with portfolio solutions, medical and commercial) patient journeys in key disease areas to sharpen the global positioning and value proposition of FMI solutions to biopharma customers. Establish necessary collaborative processes and forums to gather, synthesize, and communicate market insights internally. Collaborate with key internal stakeholders across multiple organizations (Global Portfolio Strategy, Commercial and Medical) to ensure strategic co-development and positioning of data, assay, and medical solutions within the portfolio. Develop strong relationships with key external stakeholders in target customer segments and organizations. Develop global relationships and build credibility with key internal cross-functional stakeholders from both Foundation Medicine and Roche. o Impact & Leadership:
Manage a small team and deliver work through external support (e.g. agencies). Collaborate with clinical-commercial business teams to stitch together seamless market positioning and messages that benefit all customer-facing business activities. Adopt a broad enterprise mindset and shape business growth and customer experience strategies. o Travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time. o Other projects as periodically assigned. Qualifications Basic Qualifications o Bachelor's Degree o 10
years of diagnostic or pharmaceutical product and/or portfolio marketing experience, 5
years of which are in oncology o 5
years of experience leading and managing teams Preferred Qualifications o Advanced degree, such as Master's of Business Administration or PhD within Business, Science, Healthcare or Biomedical field o 15
years of work experience in marketing, preferably including biopharma and diagnostics, of which 7
years are in Oncology o Experience in healthcare with an emphasis on diagnostics, genomics, and/or biotechnology o Experience gathering industry trends, generating deep customer insights and competitive intelligence to target the in-house laboratory testing market segment o Experience building financial models representing complex market situations to facilitate data-driven decision making o Globally-focused marketing or sales experience and a deep understanding of the oncology end-to-end marketplace o Experience creating impactful strategic marketing plans and developing value propositions, positioning and targeting in the life-sciences space o Entrepreneurial mindset, with a bias for action and ability to deal with extreme ambiguity and rapidly changing environments o Direct product launch experience including regulatory, access, marketing and sales o Experience building relationships with key customers, cross-functional partners, and external business partners o Experience in next-generation sequencing technologies o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at senior executive and stakeholder levels o Understanding of HIPAA and importance of privacy of patient data o Commitment to FMI values:

Salary Range:
$250K -- $500K+
Minimum Qualification
Life SciencesEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
