Job-Specific Responsibilities Job Summary The Office of the Vice Provost for Advances in Learning (VPAL) is seeking a CRM Platform Developer to join an innovative and dynamic development team working on a University-wide initiative led by VPAL in partnership with Harvard University IT (HUIT). The initiative is to build, launch, and develop a next-generation learning experiences platform (LXP), serving University-wide needs for high engagement, primarily asynchronous online learning. The LXP will be integrated within an ecosystem of University systems, including but not limited to marketing, CRM, finance, identity and access management, cloud, and security. The CRM Platform Developer will be under the direction of the Deputy Vice Provost for Advances in Learning and report to the Senior Manager for the LXP project. The CRM Platform Developer will also closely collaborate with the Senior Technical Lead on the project at HUIT as well as with vendors and Harvard developers to build, develop, and maintain a class-leading CRM system to complement the LXP. This is a unique opportunity to work on a clean-slate build for a CRM system that is a part of a much larger vision impacting the future of teaching and learning at Harvard. The ideal candidate has:
strong opinions on ensuring a right-sized Salesforce implementation given the business requirements at various stages of this project; experience integrating Salesforce services and tools into a larger ecosystem (bonus points for higher education experience); and the capacity to develop solutions that balance a variety of factors, such as cost, scalability, future flexibility, and sustainability. Duties and Responsibilities include:
Develop:
Oversee the design and development of end-to-end solutions with Apex (classes, triggers, and web services), Visualforce, Salesforce APIs, SOQL, SOSL, Outbound Messaging, Force.com platform as well as integration technologies (Web Services, XML, REST, SOAP). Understand business requirements/user stories and translate them into technical design & actionable software within the Salesforce environment. Integrate:
Integrate APIs with other data, processes, and platforms to assure that the systems within the CRM communicate efficiently and fully leverage available information. Unit Test & Deploy:
Participate in daily scrums, work with PM, BA, QA, and Infrastructure team on issues, timelines & priorities. Collaborate:
Partner with the peer developers, quality engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts to design and review end-to-end solution options Manage:
As demand for in-house Salesforce developer capacity grows, the Developer may have the opportunity to manage a team of developers. Document:
Write and oversee documentation on an ongoing basis throughout the development of the CRM ecosystem. Troubleshoot:
Identify and remedy defects in existing solutions. Typical Core Duties Participate fully in software development life cycle Research, design, and implement technical solutions to deliver business requirements Identify opportunities to improve and simplify applications portfolio and implement related enhancements Contribute to creation and maturing of software development best practices and new technologies Draw on relationship and technical skills to act as technical liaison to internal and external clients and to mentor junior staff Abide by and follow the Harvard University IT technical standards, policies and Code of Conduct Basic Qualifications Minimum of five years' post-secondary education or relevant work experience Additional Qualifications and Skills Knowledge of information technology applications, processes, software and equipment Highly specialized knowledge of a specific technology Demonstrated team performance skills, service mindset approach, and the ability to act as a trusted advisor BA/BS Deep understanding of Salesforce platform architecture Standard and custom objects Apex Visualforce Lightning components Strong knowledge of Salesforce APIs, Salesforce Connect/Lightning Connect Javascript SQL/SOQL Unit testing/Code coverage Process Builder, Flows Data management Experience with enterprise integration tools and extract, transformation, and load (ETL) tools Working knowledge of Web Service Integration Familiar with SDLC lifecycle and use of changesets, workflow rules, and approval processes Preferably experience with scoping / right-sizing cost modeling and management payment gateway integration external issue tracking tools & integration reporting and general ledger synchronization Certificates and Licenses Completion of Harvard IT Academy specified foundational courses (or external equivalent) preferred Salesforce Platform Developer I & II Certification preferred Working Conditions Work is performed in an office setting Additional Information IMPORTANT NOTE:

Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
