Staff Attorney

Job Summary EELP is seeking a Staff Attorney to develop legal and policy research on climate change and clean energy policy. Reporting to the Executive Director of the Environmental and Energy Law Program, the Staff Attorney will engage with private and public sector actors on federal climate rulemakings, and convene diverse stakeholders and experts, to develop legal analysis and policy proposals. The Staff Attorney will also conduct research and stakeholder outreach on other EELP projects. They will work in close collaboration with the Executive Director, Staff Attorneys, Fellows, and student Research Assistants on current and emerging energy and environmental issues, help manage ongoing projects to track and analyze federal environmental, energy, and climate regulation and build partnerships across the university to enhance our program's work and influence. In addition to the subject matter areas and areas of responsibility described below, the Staff Attorney will have the opportunity to work with the Executive Director to pursue other areas of interest in environmental and energy law. Job-Specific Responsibilities As a Staff Attorney responsibilities include:
In conjunction with the Executive Director, building and managing partnerships directly with outside stakeholders in carrying out research and writing, and in conducting various public events and meetings. Generating and sustaining a portfolio of ongoing research, writing, and public engagement activities to support EELP's work related to federal climate rulemakings. In conjunction with the Executive Director, building and managing partnerships with other related Harvard initiatives. Advising and coordinating research activities with Fellows, student Research Assistants and outside partners; and developing and managing EELP events. Contributing to ongoing projects to track and analyze federal environmental, energy, climate, and environmental justice regulation and initiatives. Delivering presentations and attending events on behalf of EELP. Basic Qualifications JD degree, admission to a state bar, and a minimum of 3 years of relevant post-graduate professional experience Additional Qualifications and Skills We are looking for people who have:
Superior research, writing, editing, and proofreading skills Ability to communicate effectively and exercise judgment and discretion Extensive familiarity with a wide range of environmental statutes and case law Ability to thrive in dynamic, entrepreneurial, self-motivated environment Additional Information The Staff Attorney may be called upon to take on special projects and for other tasks at short notice. Occasional evening and weekend work will be required. Travel opportunities may arise. The right candidate can operate independently in a work environment of multiple priorities, but also must work well as the member of a team. This position may be responsible for the supervision of Fellows, student Research Assistants, and summer interns. Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Legal & RegulatoryEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
