Job Description:
Client seeking a qualified candidate for a Cell Based Assay Associate Scientist position in the Kendall Square area of Cambridge, MA.
This is an onsite position and lab based.
Job
Responsibilities:
Conduct routine mammalian cell culture, including but not limited to the following responsibilities.
o Maintain routine cultures of immortalized mammalian cells.
o Split and plate cells into multi-well microplates for experiments in numbers and formats specified by a supervisor.
o Freeze and bank cell lines for long-term storage in liquid nitrogen and maintain organizational control over banked lines.
Routinely execute cell-based assays in 384W plates.
Make use of fluorescence, luminescence, and other common detection modalities and associated instrumentation to successfully carry out cell-based assays.
Collect, quality-control, and analyze resultant data.
Upload results to internal database.
Job Requirements:
BS in Biology or a related field with 1-3 years of subsequent experience, or MS in Biology or related field with 0-1 years of relevant experience.
A qualified candidate will be very familiar with the practice of adherent cell culture and associated aseptic technique and will have some basic familiarity with conducting common cell-based assays.
A qualified candidate will be highly detail oriented and have good organizational/time management skills as well as the ability to multitask when required.
Interpersonal and communication skills are highly valued.
The candidate for this position must be able to work independently as well as within a larger team environment.
Flexibility, accountability, reliability, and the ability to meet specific deadlines are all highly important.
The ability and desire to learn and master new skills in a highly technology-integrated environment is an important set of skills for this position.
A basic familiarity with computers and common consumer and some scientific applications is required.
Training will be provided for more advanced applications and technologies.
