Be Biopharma is seeking a candidate for growing Protein Sciences Team.
This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a team that is developing novel therapy for patients.
The Protein Sciences Team is responsible for rational protein construct design, titer measurement, protein purification, and protein characterization of proteins expressed recombinantly or by BeCMs (B Cell Medicines).
This is also an excellent opportunity for career growth as you would interact with various program teams and be involved in learning and executing a diverse number of assays in B cell therapy modality.
Responsibilities Execute, implement, and document protein titer measurements for scale up production as well as Hight Throughput construct screening in BeCMs using Octet, ELISA, Western blotting, and other techniques.
Develop and perform routine purification and protein characterization of proteins expressed in B cells, leveraging internal resources and CROs.
Order and maintain reagents, standards, and control proteins for biochemical and biophysical assays.
Assist with rational protein construct design with support of in silico techniques, such as alphaFold and other structural approaches.
Be a strong team player contributing to group priorities and deliverables.
Experience, Education, Specialized Knowledge, And Skills BS or MS in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Cell & Molecular Biology, Structural Biology or related discipline with 0-2 years of industry experience.
Hands-on experience with protein purification, single step (capture) as well as polishing secondary steps (SEC, IEX, etc.
) using AKTA is required.
Hands-on experience with common protein characterization techniques (SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, Octet/SPR, SEC) is required.
Cell culture experience and/or liquid handling robotics and laboratory automation is desirable, but not required.
Experience with Protein Structure visualization software such as PyMol is a plus.
Experience in documenting procedural steps and results within an ELN system, experience with Benchling ELN is a plus.
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the proven ability to solve complex problems and to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team, detail oriented, and critical thinker.
Ability to use literature to design proof of concept studies.
