edu/forging-pathway-invention-education) (part-time, 50%), to facilitate collaborative efforts to support LMIT invention education offerings in particular geographic regions that span grades K-14.
These efforts--which include annual events that celebrate students work and accomplishments as inventors--will help people learn to invent, how to protect their intellectual property, and bring creations to intended beneficiaries.
Will also support the development and implementation of new online and hybrid invention education offerings for educators and students in the early years (emphasis on grades K-8) as part of a comprehensive strategy for expanded engagement with educators and students; engage with educators and administrators and cultivate relationships and ongoing collaborations through paid memberships or other revenue sources; collaborate on developing grants and funding proposals and on invention education-related events; attend conferences and make presentations; and actively participate in research, evaluation, and new program development efforts, including curricula, hands-on tools and materials, and professional learning opportunities for educators.
Job RequirementsREQUIRED:
bachelors degree in education, science, or engineering; at least three years professional experience in science, engineering, or teaching; excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, and writing skills; good judgment and discretion with confidential information; drivers license; and Microsoft Office proficiency.
Must be able to communicate effectively with diverse constituencies; work independently and collaboratively; synthesize data and communicate it to diverse internal and external partners; and coach/mentor people of different ages and levels of experience.
PREFERRED:
masters degree or teaching credential; experience with databases, online survey development, online collaboration tools (e.
g.
Google Docs, Adobe Connect), Macs, Drupel, and learning management systems (Canvas); and experience using devices such as Arduino, Micro:
bit, or Raspberry Pi.
