//opendoclab.

edu/) communications, event management, visiting fellows program, workshop and project logistics, and budget monitoring.
Will also participate in sponsored research projects as needed.
Responsibilities include managing communications--including website, social media, email lists, and meeting notes--to ensure that lab-related activities are documented and communicated to internal and external audiences; writing copy about lab news, people, and events; working with ODL fellows to produce videos about the lab; assisting with managing ODL hybrid fellows program, including organizing lectures, workshops, and working groups; serving as liaison for visiting fellows and MIT departments and as a resource about the program, MIT, etc.

, monthly guest lecture series, panels, symposia, screenings, talks, workshops, bi-annual spring conference), including logistics, organizing registration and facilities needs, audiovisual set-up, catering, and monitoring budgets and completing all financial transactions; and overseeing content development for Docubase, a lab database of emerging documentary forms and practices.

, travel arrangements, catering, purchasing supplies/equipment, handling fellows' and speakers contracts, maintaining files, and monitoring budgets.
Job RequirementsREQUIRED:
bachelors degree; at least one year of experience in communications; excellent communication, writing, research, and organizational skills; knowledge of the latest social media, communications, and production tools/platforms; and discretion and judgment with confidential information/issues.
Seek a detail-oriented self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team.
PREFERRED:
knowledge of and familiarity with the digital nonfiction storytelling field, video and editing skills, design skills, project and event management experience, and interest in digital nonfiction storytelling and emerging technologies.
Job #22920-6 Evening and weekend work will be required to manage events.
This is a one-year position with renewal dependent upon funding.
