Job Description Working closely with the Chief Operating Officer and the VP of Global Expansion, the Vice President of Engineering will be the key executive managing 24M's equipment and factory design programs.
S/he will lead the teams that develop, produce and deliver 24M's custom equipment, including its unique tooling to produce battery cells using 24M's patented and proprietary SemiSolid process, to its license partners around the world.
This will require the skills to manage a team of talented designers developing highly automated, high volume manufacturing tooling that push the envelope of casting viscous slurries at tight tolerances, high speed and low costs.
The VP of Manufacturing will also manage the entirety of the construction and delivery of that tooling to 24M's licensees from qualified contract equipment manufacturers.
In addition to leading internal equipment programs, the VP of Engineering will identify, qualify and negotiate terms with commercial equipment providers to enable 24M's global licensees to successfully install and ramp GigaWatt Scale battery factories.
The VP of Engineering will lead a team of experienced engineers to develop, write and negotiate all terms with equipment providers.
This will include finding new vendors, often local to where factories are being built, to provide equipment that meets required specifications at competitive costs.
Working closely with the VP of Global Expansion, they will together ensure 24M's licensees are able to rapidly build, install and ramp billion dollar factories with outstanding yields, costs and product quality.
These factories will often be the first of a kind factories and will require the flexibility to adjust to future product designs while still achieving low-costs and high volume today.
In short you will be one of the key executives that enables the SemiSolid manufacturing platform to become the new standard in lithium-ion battery manufacturing.
Currently 24M has the technology, partners, resources and market demand to make our vision a reality, but we need to fully build the engineering team that can successfully move the SemiSolid manufacturing platform through pilot and into full scale manufacturing.

Responsibilities:
Be a partner on the senior management team and help make our vision a reality Provide strategic guidance and direction to the engineering team, ensuring alignment with the company's goals and objectives.
Help identify areas of investment and work alongside existing teams to develop a plan for impact Plus all the things you would expect as a VP of Engineering Required Education:
Bachelors degree in Engineering required; advanced degree preferred, unless it's a law degree.
Experience designing, constructing, ramping and operating high technology manufacturing operations, particularly process operations and ideally battery operations.
