Research Services Lead (M/F/D)

The Opportunity:
Avantor is looking for a dedicated Research Services Lead, to coordinate laboratory management operations and leading large team of Laboratory Managers, in The Discovery Centre in Cambridge.
This role is a full-time, temporary position (12 months), based at Bio-Medical Campus in Cambridge, however you'll be required to occasionally travel to other sites in Cambridge, therefore driving license and car is essential.
As a Services Lead you will step out of operational role and will be a main point of contact for Avantor services, including sample and stock management, to make sure service efficiency.
The team You'll be leading 15-20 associates - they coordinate laboratory operations, equipment and service efficiency.
What we're looking forEducation:
Scientific background - essential, a degree in biology or chemistry preferred, with 5
years of relevant experience in BSL-1/2 lab environment required and in-depth knowledge of H&S regulations of R&D labs
Experience:
Leadership and team management experience, ideally 3
years, combined with exceptionally high level of dedication to the success of individuals in the team Cell culture experience in an advantageOrganisational change and quality management processes and execution Ability to build long-lasting professional relationships with internal and external suppliers and client, including senior partners How you'll thrive and create an impactLine management - conducting 1-2-1's, holiday allocations, probation review, annual performance review for each associate, along with quarterly check ins and management of any performance issues Responsibility of Health and Safety (including audits and GAMBA walks) and regulatory compliance for themselves and their team Regular business meetings with clients (Client Site Service Leads) to present data including critical metric data capture along with analysis of any deviations Creation, maintenance and updating relevant documentation in support of service delivery compliance and training e.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
