Job Description
E Ink is seeking a Senior Product Engineer to lead design configuration and product qualification activities to bring E Ink Imaging Film products successfully into the market. With the support of Analytical, Engineering, Marketing and Operations, this person will be responsible for establishing product specifications and driving those requirements into the product development process. In this role, the Product Engineer provides the essential links between the market requirements and the product definition as well as the manufacturing readiness and the product quality. This role has the key responsibility to represent the Product Development Process on the project, which requires a mix of strong technical background and excellent interpersonal engagement. The Product Engineer will be responsible for driving specification and verification activities and coordinating with multiple groups both internally (Analytical Technology, Marketing, Operations, Quality) as well as externally (including customers and supply chain partners) to ensure successful execution of the product qualification and release to volume production.

Responsibilities:
Develop specifications for new E Ink products in response to Market Requirements;
Develop and direct qualification plans for E Ink Imaging Film and display cell products. Plans will include test plans, material requirements, and scheduling;
Develop test plans for product qualifications with support from the Analytical Technologies team;
Plan, schedule, and execute product qualification builds with support from the pilot plant and supply chain partners;
Control product configuration through documentation;
Utilize the change management process to manage documentation and product changes;
Analyze test results and publish reports to recommend state of product readiness to management and support qualification decisions;
Identify key attributes and negotiate specifications for product applications with Product Management;
Manage the creation of technically correct and complete product documentation including specifications, process documentation, and test methods;
Coordinate with Analytical Technologies team to develop robust test methods to quantify key attributes in developing product specifications;
Work with Product Development group in developing product designs and manufacturing processes that meet product requirements;
Transfer qualified products to Operations group for volume production;
Work with Product Manager on development of specifications for product roadmap.

Qualifications:
BS Engineering Degree required (Mechanical, Materials, or Chemical Engineering desired);
7 years minimum experience working in a manufacturing or engineering organization of a product manufacturing company;
Experience transferring a developed product component to high-volume manufacturing;
Demonstrated strong documentation and organization skills;
Demonstrated excellent communication and project management skills;
Demonstrated ability to utilize problem-solving skills to solve a variety of technical challenges;
Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, self-managed environment;
Experience with outsourced or offsite manufacturing is desired;
Experience developing jointly with Asian companies preferred;
CAD skills are desired. AutoCAD experience is preferred.
