Job Description:
The candidate will perform contract audits and sponsor billings in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), specific invoicing requirements, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The candidate will ensure accurate and timely customer invoicing and collections, analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve accounting and billing issues.
Essential Functions:
Perform interim and final contract-audits to ensure billing accuracy, create corrected bills and appropriate journal vouchers.
Calculate and prepare monthly government and industrial bills
Troubleshoot and resolve billing and contract-audit issues
Input on government invoices for payment on WAWF System (Wide Area Workflow Receipt & Acceptance)
Review rate center billings and prepare transfer vouchers to correct rate center or other billing errors
Reconcile Work in Process and Project Cost Report to the Balance Sheet; analyze unbilled costs for resolution and timely billing
May prepare account reconciliations
Interface with internal customers at all levels to communicate statuses and resolve billing issues
Perform ad hoc account and billing analyses as business needs dictate
Education and
Experience:
Bachelors' Degree in Accounting
Familiarity with ERP billing applications with a minimum of 3 years of government accounting and contract billing experience, preferably Department ofDefense (DOD) and/or NASA related
Strong computer and problem solving skills
Knowledge of relevant Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
