About the Job
As a Senior Systems Quality Assurance Engineer in Akamai's Emerging Products Engineering team, you will be responsible for testing and verification of software components and features that will power Akamai's Edge Application Network.
We are seeking a Senior Systems Quality Assurance Engineer with solid system test skills to work with the engineering and quality teams to build system-level test automation and execute automated and manual tests. An ideal candidate will have distributed system testing experience, strong analytical abilities, excellent teamwork and communication skills, and the ability to design, implement, maintain and extend effective system test automation solutions.
About the Team
Akamai has one of the world's largest content delivery networks (CDN). We are seeking a Sr. System Quality Assurance Engineer to join the Cloud NW & Computing team. This role will work closely with developers to develop new automation frameworks and execute system-level test automation as well as manual tests. An ideal candidate will have distributed system testing experience, strong analytical abilities, excellent teamwork and communication skills, and the ability to design, implement, maintain and extend effective system test automation solutions.
Work closely with developers, DevQA, SQA Engineers and others to design, develop, implement and improve test methodologies, test plans and highly effective test automation.
Gather requirements, plan and execute tests, analyze and report results.
Perform manual and automated functional and full system tests for Akamai's Content Delivery and Security Products.
Create, deploy and maintain automated system tests to replicate real-world scenarios including tests on a large-scale distributed network.
Reproduce problems seen in production and verify solutions.
Review bug descriptions, functional requirements and design documents, incorporating this information into test plans and test cases.
Basic Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
5
years of experience in software quality and/or software development engineering.
2
years of experience in server-side SQA and/or software development engineering experience.
2
years of experience working with UNIX/Linux operating system.
2
years of experience working with one of more common scripting languages such as perl, python, ruby, php, and/or shell.
2
years of experience working with one or more common Internet protocols such as IP, TCP, HTTP, DNS, FTP, and/or SSL.
Desired Qualifications
Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Strong proven ability working in UNIX/Linux/Windows environments.
Strong proven ability working with fundamental Internet protocols: BGP, GRE, MPLS, CDN, TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, HTTP/S, DNS.
Strong proven ability with Object-Oriented design and development.
Proven ability with web servers, various Internet protocols, HTTP content delivery.
Proven ability with client/server and distributed Enterprise software testing.
Proven ability developing new automation frameworks that can be adopted by multiple teams and building successful collections of test cases.
Proven ability with testing large-scale, large-volume and highly distributed systems.
Must be highly responsible, self-disciplined, self-motivated, and able to work with little or no supervision.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and excellent problem solving/troubleshooting skills.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
