Job Details:
The Communications Manager, will play a key role in ensuring that initiatives being implemented across the function are clearly communicated to and understood by all impacted stakeholders. Where applicable, this highly visible role will support departmental related communications and training activities. The person selected for this role must have outstanding writing and communication skills, with a proven ability to produce succinct, consistent, clear and accurate messaging associated with new programs. The incumbent will not own Change Management processes, but will play a key role in driving established change management processes within the organization in concert with regulatory team members, consultants and training staff.
Key
Responsibilities:
Contribute substantially to the development of internal, executive-level presentations and support other initiatives as needed
Work closely with project teams to develop the right communications and training strategy associated with implementation plans
Own content creation and or updates on department SharePoint sites
Where applicable, coach managers and senior leaders on messaging related to people, process or technology initiatives
Coordinate with other teams across the company to ensure dependencies are identified and appropriately managed
Define metrics and develop approach to measure Communication Effectiveness
Build relationships and establish credibility with senior leaders
Manage stakeholders across various levels in the organization
At times, manage external vendor relationships
Track and report issues
Required Skills:
Four to six years of experience in a position involving writing, editing, project planning, communications strategy and change management
Excellent written, oral communication/ presentation skills; ability to analyze information, evaluate issues and clearly articulate a consistent message to different audiences across the organization
Respond quickly to requests from client teams regarding messaging, strategy and content development; Anticipate needs, provide communications counsel, and draft and design materials as needed
Must be comfortable interfacing with senior level executives as well as project teams to effectively drive change
Knowledgeable in project management principles, tools and phases of a project lifecycle
Understanding of Microsoft Project, ability to create and update project schedules and track commitments in this tool and experience using SharePoint are a plus
Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, or Life Science industry experience is a plus
Experience in facilitating stakeholder workshops or training sessions
Educational Requirements:
BA, BS required MBA preferred
