About This Role:
The Principal Consultant scopes and delivers research-based consulting projects based on our published CIO, application development and delivery (AD&D), enterprise architecture, data, business intelligence (BI), and content research. Principal Consultants have three major
Responsibilities: 1) partner with our sales reps and business development directors to promote our research-based consulting capabilities with prospects and clients; 2) create high-quality research-based consulting deliverables, such as business cases, maturity assessments, strategic road maps, vendor selections, or performance metrics reviews; and 3) partner with other consultants or research analysts to develop repeatable consulting offerings based on our published methodologies.
The ideal candidate has experience supporting AD&D teams, working across the project life cycle from inception to execution. Specific experience in areas such as COTS implementations, modern application delivery methodologies like Agile or DevOps, testing, data management, big data and analytics, mobile, or digital experience architectures is desirable.
Candidates must have experience of helping firms define strategies, organizational models, reference architectures, and technology road maps that support sales, marketing, and customer service initiatives. He or she will leverage this experience to design, promote, and deliver consulting projects that leverage our research on defining future states, building a business case, conducting a maturity assessment, and defining a road map.
Responsibilities
Partner with sales reps and other business development partners to identify prospects for these consulting offerings based on an analysis of clients and prospects who attend Forrester events and workshops, request analyst inquiries, or read research reports.
Develop sample deliverables and associated marketing materials for repeatable consulting offerings based on our published research.
Achieve personal revenue targets on a quarterly basis by delivering research-based consulting projects, including conducting intake interviews and analyzing client data using a published methodology to evaluate client inputs, synthesizing conclusions, and developing recommendations.
Develop high-quality, well-structured, and user-friendly Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel client deliverables.
Present or co-present findings and recommendations to clients.
Establish and manage client expectations on timelines and deliverables, ensuring adherence to project commitments.
Identify opportunities for new research streams based on feedback from clients and trends in our engagements with clients.
Qualifications
A strong academic record of achievement.
A combined minimum of eight to 12 years of management consulting experience and experience assisting software and application delivery efforts that support marketing, sales, and customer service business objectives.
A demonstrated ability to develop consulting offerings, scope and price projects, and close consulting deals in partnership with sales professionals.
Demonstrated experience with designing and delivering technology solutions, preferably in the areas that support an organization's interactions with its customers. (e.g., BI, analytics, marketing technology, and customer service and support).
A demonstrated ability to achieve key performance metrics, such as utilization rates or revenue targets.
The ability and desire to work on multiple strategy projects concurrently, balancing the needs of each to achieve superior client satisfaction.
Experience preparing deliverables for clients; owning and delivering the finished product; and taking the outputs of workshops and creating client-facing deliverables for delivery to C-level business executives.
Strong communication, analytical, and client-facing skills.
Experience working with subject matter experts with deep content knowledge.
The ability to travel (approximately 10 days per month).
