Graphic Designer

GRAPHIC DESIGNER, Resource Development-Office of Communications (2 openings), to support a variety of design projects. Will work closely with the creative director, associate art and web director, designers, web developers, and marketing and communications colleagues to develop and implement consistent graphic identity standards. Responsibilities include preparing design layouts for digital, printed, and graphic materials for invitations, presentations, posters, newsletters, brochures, booklets, exhibits, websites, mobile apps, HTML emails, and logos; creating original drawings, charts, graphs, logos, and illustrations; developing print specifications and preparing pre-press files for digital and offset printing projects; keeping up-to-date on and recommending printing methods; and designing HTML emails and contributing to the testing, vetting, and sending process.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED:
undergraduate degree, preferably in graphic arts, fine arts, or related field; at least two years' graphic art, illustration, or design experience; experience with print and digital/mobile design; experience working with offset and digital print vendors; strong conceptual, typographical, and color management skills; solid knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat in a Macintosh environment; familiarity with MS Word, PowerPoint, online collaboration and project management software, HTML, CSS, digital media production for web, and content management systems (e.g., WordPress); ability to concept and help implement charts and graphs, social media campaigns, HTML emails and marketing communications, and user interface best practices; excellent organizational skills; ability to multitask and meet aggressive deadlines while keeping close attention to detail; ability to converse and collaborate equally well with management, designers, writers, technologists, and other colleagues; flexibility and receptivity to new ideas; and passion for design. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
